Now you can get SMS alerts with mobile phone banking when your account hits upper or lower limits - limits that you set yourself. You could set this up as a warning that you're about to go overdrawn - or a reminder that you've just been paid.

You'll also get your balance (from the previous day) sent to your phone - once a week, when you decide.

You can even keep tabs on up to 10 current accounts.

How secure is the mobile phone banking service?

It has been developed with some of the world's leading banking security companies, and uses the same secure system as UK cash machines.

Remember, no bank account information is held on your mobile, and every time you want to use the service, you need to enter a passcode that you set yourself.

If you lose your mobile phone - contact your network operator as soon as possible.
